If you want the gray chao instead of the gold
chao, go to the site where Sonic faught Chaos for
the first time, get that gray stone behind the
wall that you would normally use to get the gold
egg in the pawn shop. Take it to the Station
Square Chao Garden and let it hatch. So now you
know that it was an egg and not a stone.
