Though the enemy may be far away, a balloon armed with a devastation spell can slip in, paralyze your priest, and move away before you can do anything. Always surround your island with a good web of antiair structures. Hint: Don't forget that melting down your own generators makes for a good demolition bomb if you don't have any airborne destruct spells around. Just build one close to an enemy bridge artery and order it to melt down and it will shatter the surrounding bridges and complicate your opponent's life.
