In the xvt\ivfiles directory, all the ship data is stored, EXCEPT for the cockpit picture (key point). The cockpit files are in cp640, cp480,and cp320 if you want to mess with those. The names are kind of descriptive, but some are tougher to figure out. All you need to do is go into this directory, and do a little copying. Follow these steps: 1) Choose one of these ships that would most be like the one you want to be. You'll know if it worked!!!! NOTE: I recommend replacing the Y-Wing with the Starchaser (fghtb.opt) and the Assault GunBoat with the Millinium Falcon (cortn.opt). 4) When the novelty has worn off and the reality of how unrealistic it is (You can be an interdictor cruiser, but you are still ACTUALLY the size of the ship you chose, other ships will even fly through you. That's why I chose a small ship, the YT-1300 [cortn.opt] to be) has set in, just copy the backup file back over the original file. copy assault.bak assault.opt and you're done! Back to normal. Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you jack up your game. I jacked up mine when I tried to be a victory class star destroyer, but when I copied the backup back to the original everything was fine again. Remember, you can always re-install.
