Adds passive terrain following radar to allow all-weather, low level, low altitude, low chance of detection penetration of enemy defenses. Also included are internal Electronic Counter Measure systems and various fine electronics, cameras, sensors etc. The Royal Airforce is updating all it's current Tornado IDS's to this standard. Panavia Tornado F.3 ADV The Air defense/Interceptor variant of the venerable Tornado design. It is in the same serie with F-15C Eagle, F-14D Tomcat and MiG-31 Foxhound. It provides long range Air-to-Air coverage of Brittish isles and can be also used in distant battlefields. It's powerful Sky Flash or AIM-120A AMRAAM radar guided missiles are equal or even superior to any other missile systems available today. It's fully automatic variable geometry wings also give any other aircraft hard time in dogfight - Tornado is very manueverable. Panavia Tornado ECR (not included in this game) Support aircraft variant of Tornado design. Packed with extra technology, jammers & other classified toys. Can also use the more advanced AGM-88A HARM Anti-radar missile system. These aircraft are used to support other strikes and blind the enemy defenses from incoming strikes. There are also Italian & German variants of the Tornado, after all it was originally combined European design. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The weapon systems: Air-to-Air: AIM-9M IR homing Air-to-Air missile, quite advanced model. Sky Flash Semi-active radar homing very sophisticated Air-to-Air missile. Air-to-Surface: ALARM Missile which will seek (if in indirect mode) any ACTIVE radar emissions from ground and lock into them (or lock right away before launch if in direct mode) and fly straight into it's target & obliterate it with explosive warhead. Great for cleaning out those nasty SAM radars and triple-A controller radars. Bl.755 Bomb filled with hundreds of small, about apple sized bomblets. Will split open few hundred feets over ground and spread the bomblets to large area. Excellent against soft targets such as AA-artillery, artillery, force concentrations and other lightly armored vehicles. JP.233 Not actually bombs, but tanks or container boxes filled with several hundreds of bomblets about the size of 2-3 tennis balls. When triggered, will shoot the bomblets out from both sides at certain rate. The bomblets will spread to wide area after the path of the airplane and do devastating destruction to lightly or not at all armored forces, vehicles and most importantly, runways. 1000lb GPB 1000 pound General Purpose Bomb, filled with High explosives, packed in steel case which will break into millions of little fragments. Normal, quite powerful bomb. Useful almost against anything, but not absolutely devastating against anything. Like the name says, it's General purpose. 1000lb RET Same as above except the base is fitted with little winglets which will fold out after the bomb has been released and will drag the bomb and slow it down. This has two advantages: first the plane that dropped the bomb has passed the target area already when the bomb detonates. This means that there will be no damage to the airplane flying low above the target. Second, it can be dropped much close to the target allowing more time for aiming and such. 1000lb LGB 1000 pound bomb fitter with laser beam detector system in the nose, and controller fins at the end. Once a target has been "lit" with a laser spot, this bomb will lock onto it and adjust the fins accordingly to hit straight to the target. Very accurate when used correctly. 30mm cannon Automatic fixed cannon with few hundred rounds of High- explosive ammo. Great for tearing up unarmored light ground targets and airplanes or helicopters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Tornado Keys&Info. Keys just "discovered" from game and plane/weapon information taken from other sources than the original Tornado package (if it even has this stuff). Hope it enlightens the game a little bit...
