Lose/Win/Retire from a race so that you reach the Free Run Screen. Eject the tray on the PS2, but leave the game disc inside the tray. Select Free Run. The game will play on Auto Pilot. You must leave the game in this mode for 12 - 15 hours - it is driving all of that time on Auto Pilot. Once you want to take control of the game again, press the button on the PS2 to close the tray and wait for the game to give you back control. This may take 30 seconds or so. Some people have had success with removing the game, closing the tray and the selecting Free Run. Note: Do this trick at your own risk.
